A useful mining LED strip RFQ describes the location, electrical branches, operating environment and acceptance evidence. Asking only for price per meter leaves suppliers to make different assumptions and makes quotations difficult to compare.

Describe the job in one page
State whether the lighting is for route visibility, a maintenance task, equipment integration or another defined purpose. Attach a marked drawing with lengths and mounting locations. Identify the project country, responsible specification and any hazardous-area classification supplied by the site. Suppliers should not be asked to infer the classification from the word mining.
Include ambient conditions, cleaning exposure, mechanical risks and expected operating hours. Distinguish confirmed requirements from open decisions. A short table headed required, preferred and supplier proposal prevents an attractive optional feature from being mistaken for a non-negotiable requirement.
Ask for a system price with clear boundaries
List strip sections, feeder interfaces, terminations, drivers, mounting parts and spares separately. State which items your contractor supplies. Ask the bidder to identify exclusions and any limit on run length. This makes it possible to compare the total installed arrangement rather than two unrelated prices for a reel.
Request the exact offered model, voltage, power basis, dimensional drawing and applicable documentation. If customization is proposed, ask which changes require sample approval and which may affect certification. Require written review of substitutions so the purchased configuration remains traceable through production and delivery.
Specify how the order will be accepted
Define sample quantity and what the trial should establish. Agree the inspection records, labeling, packaging and spare-section identification required with delivery. Include the intended commissioning approach, but let the competent designer set project-specific limits rather than copying unsupported numbers from a generic specification.
Ask for lead time measured from an explicit milestone, such as approved drawings and sample acceptance. Clarify warranty scope, operating conditions and the procedure for a claim. A product warranty is not the same as a guaranteed service life for the installed system, especially when site connections and power equipment come from other suppliers.
Copy these headings into the RFQ
- Application, destination and responsible specification.
- Hazard classification and required approval evidence.
- Route drawing, branch loads and supply arrangement.
- Environment, mounting, connections and service access.
- Sample plan, acceptance records, spares and delivery milestone.
Questions buyers ask
Can I request a quote before every detail is fixed?
Yes. Mark uncertainties clearly and request options with their assumptions, then resolve them before approving production.
Should the cheapest meter price win?
Only after scope and compliance are equivalent. Missing drivers, connectors or maintenance access can change the actual project cost substantially.
