Which LED is better, 5050 or 2835?

Choose 2835 primarily for efficient white lighting and 5050 when you need multichannel color or a larger package—but compare the finished strip, not the package name alone.

Do not compare by LED count alone

A 120 LED/m strip is not automatically twice as bright as a 60 LED/m strip. Compare measured lumens per metre, watts per metre and efficacy. Also check CRI, CCT tolerance, PCB width, cutting length and voltage drop.

Which should you choose?

For cove lighting, task lighting and high-CRI white illumination, begin with the SMD LED strip range. For saturated color effects, review RGB and RGBW strips. If the installation needs a continuous line with minimal dotting, compare a COB LED strip.
